Stop Watching the Ticker
Don't judge your life by today's fluctuation. Judge it by the long-term trend.

Have you ever checked a stock price every few minutes?
One moment it's up. The next moment it's down. If you focus on every movement, it feels chaotic and emotional. You might even question whether it's worth holding at all.
Life works the same way.
Many of us judge our happiness based on today's results. Did we have a good workout? Did we get the promotion? Did someone return our text? Did the scale move? Did the market go up?
That's gratification thinking. It's focused on the ticker.
Happiness is different.
Happiness is what you see when you zoom out. It's the result of consistent choices repeated over time. It's the stronger body built from hundreds of workouts, the wealth created through years of disciplined investing, and the peace that comes from living according to your values.
A bad day doesn't mean your failing. A missed workout doesn't erase your progress. A market downturn doesn't destroy a sound financial plan.
Just as quality stock may fluctuate daily while trending upward over years, a meaningful life will experience setbacks while still moving in the right direction.
When life feels volatile, zoom out.
Don't judge your life by the daily fluctuations; judge it by the long-term trend.
The ticker measures gratification. The trend reveals happiness.
